Control Center Feature Update! In-home TV Monitoring and New Features Now Available
Today we’re excited to announce the rollout of a new in-home monitoring feature called Telescope™. We’ve also enhanced support for Over-the-Air tuners, expanded TV navigation and added more robust support for TiVo BOLT VOX.
Introducing Telescope
Telescope™, a new in-home TV monitoring tool that allows you to use one Control Center to view what’s playing on the TV connected to another Control Center within your home.
When Telescope is in use, a message will notify users that their screen is being shared so there is full visibility to what’s happening on all screens. Telescope only works on TV’s connected to a Control Center + universal remote that are on the same network within the home. Consumer information is not shared or sent to the cloud, and the use of the feature is entirely optional.
Welcome Cord Lovers and Cord Cutters
We already support cable and satellite TV with preferred partners like DirecTV, Xfinity and Dish. Now with improved over-the-air (OTA) tuner support, Control Center is also a great solution for cord-cutters who want to control their streaming media players, broadcast TV, game consoles and sound systems with one universal remote. Control Center now works with external OTA tuners, including Channel Master, Mediasonic Homeworx, and TiVo BOLT with OTA antenna. You can connect OTA tuners from other manufacturers as well, and during setup Caavo will guide you through a process for teaching Control Center how to control it.
OTA tuners allow you to access free TV programming from local broadcast stations. Once you connect your external OTA tuner to Control Center, you can use voice control to find shows, tune channels, and access your program guides.
Expanded TV Navigation
We’ve expanded Control Center’s ability to navigate your TV. With our latest update, you’ll be able to use your Control Center universal remote to control your Samsung Smart TV, Sony Android TV, Roku TV, Vizio Smart TVs, and LG Smart TVs.
For nearly all other TVs, Control Center will continue to power on/off and control volume. When you connect one of these TVs to Control Center, you can use the Control Center remote to access your TV menu, open and navigate apps (left, right, up, down, OK, etc.), and control power and volume.
You can now use the buttons on your Control Center remote to open Netflix or any other connected app on your Smart TV. To take advantage of voice commands for Netflix or any other streaming apps, use an external streaming media player such as Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV or Nvidia Shield (we do not support voice search of Netflix or any streaming apps directly through your Smart TV).
Expanded TiVo Support
Caavo now offers more robust support for TiVo BOLT VOX, including the ability to retrieve DVR recordings and search through them as part of Universal Search. Control Center is the only universal remote that provides voice search and playback of content recorded from your TiVo BOLT DVR.
How do I know if Control Center is right for me?
To get the most value from Control Center, we recommend you have at least one external streaming media player and one other device (cable or satellite box, XBox or other game console, soundbar, etc) connected to your TV. The more devices you connect the more Control Center delivers!
Thank you and Stay Tuned!!
We look forward to adding support for additional TVs, OTA tuners and much more in the future. If you already own Control Center, you’ll receive a notification to update your Control Center starting today, which will add these new features.
