Today we pay tribute to Stan Lee, who passed away today. A true original, the Marvel comics chairman and writer/editor/publisher dreamed up many our favorite Marvel characters and for that we owe him a major debt of gratitude.

Mr. Lee’s Marvel movie cameos are legendary — his first was in a 1989 Hulk TV movie, and since 2000 he’s made an appearance in every Marvel film!  In tribute, we're recapping every cameo appearance.

Re-watch these classics and see if you can spot him:

X-Men (2000)

Frankly, we love Lee’s cameo as a hot dog vendor.

Spider-Man (2002)

It’s fairly fun to find Lee playing a man at the fair in the first Spider-Man movie. 

Daredevil (2003)

Lee’s cameo has him crossing the road in Daredevil. He’s probably just trying to get to the other side.

Hulk (2003) 

It’s safe to assume Lee was happy to play a Security guard in Ang Lee’s Hulk.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Look out! Lee is credited as “Man dodging debris” in this film.

Fantastic Four (2005)

Lee’s cameo as postal worker Willie Lumpkin is perfectly delivered.

X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

Our cup runneth over watching Mr. Lee play “water hose man.”

Spiderman 3 (2007)

New York, New York! Mr. Lee makes an appearance as a man in Times Square in Spiderman 3.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)

He’ll always have a spot on our guest list - spot Lee playing a rejected wedding guest in Fantastic Four.

Iron Man (2008)

This is an easy one: Lee plays himself in Iron Man. 

The Incredible Hulk (2008)

We’re craving more cameos, but love Lee playing a Milwaukee man drinking from a bottle in The Incredible Hulk.

Iron Man 2 (2010)

He’s uncredited in Iron Man 2, but he’s there - can you find him?

Thor (2011)

Lee, you see, plays Stan the Man in Thor.

Captain America the First Avenger (2011)

We salute Lee for his performance as a military General in Captain America the First Avenger.

The Avengers (2012)

Again, Lee isn’t credited in The Avengers, but we have it on good authority he’s there. 

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Shhhhhh! Lee makes a cameo as the school librarian in The Amazing Spider-Man.

Iron Man 3 (2013)

Lee earns a perfect 10 playing a pageant judge in Iron Man 3.

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

We’re crazy for Mr. Lee as a patient in a mental ward in Thor: The Dark World.

Captain America: Winter Soldier (2014)

Lee will forever hold the key to comic book greatness. Find him playing a Smithsonian guard in Captain America: Winter Soldier.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)

He gets an A+ for his appearance as a graduation guest in the Amazing Spider-Man 2. 

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

We love Lee’s performance as a Xandarian ladies man in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Avengers Age of Ultron (2015)

Lee appears as a War veteran in Avengers Age of Ultron.

Ant-Man (2015)

We’ll have what he’s having - Lee is credited as Bartender in Ant-Man.

Deadpool (2016)

Hip, hop, hippie to the hippie. Lee makes a cameo as a DJ in Deadpool.

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Relax, it’s FedEx. You’ll find Lee playing a delivery driver in Captain America: Civil War.

Black Panther (2018)

We wish Lee a fond farewell in this his final cameo, from Black Panther.
