FEATURED PRESS
While the Caavo Control Center can only control four devices at once, it separates itself from Harmony's remotes in that it offers a unified interface, through which you can search through content on any device, as well as a number of streaming services. The Caavo remote has built-in voice search, and a unique section of lists of shows and movies curated by others—That's something Harmony doesn't have.
Another person commented "I don’t have to set up routines i.e. programs as I did with the Harmony. Hit the on button and the system is up in seconds. The remote has almost all the commands/functions that I use. What’s really cool is if put your finger on a button a small pop up on the screen shows you what you’re touching and the function.
Unlike Harmony, Caavo includes an HDMI switch in addition to the remote. You plug your stuff into the switch and it handles the rest, including automatically recognizing your gear during setup. Caavo has its own voice control system and onscreen display to help you find stuff to watch, the clicker itself is simple and elegant and the remote finder is gold.
Caavo offers additional inputs and an easy-to-navigate user interface that will let users access all content — including their various streaming services — using only the Caavo remote.
Caavo's home theater hub and universal remote unifies all your streaming media players, apps, live TV and YouTube into a single experience - just plug everything into Control Center and say what you want to watch using our voice-controlled remote. Control Center finds all your options (free and paid) and helps you get the most value out of the devices you already own.
The perfect universal remote is hard to find, but this one will come darn close for many of you. Caavo Control Center may well have the best setup experience of any complicated device that I've ever used. And that's no small feat given that we're talking about a universal remote system that not only brings together multiple devices — it does so with its own user interface on top of them.
Caavo, the media startup trying to take on Logitech as the universal remote control of choice, has a new partner: multiroom audio specialist Sonos. Even better, Caavo slashed the price of its Control Center remote to $60.
Caavo — a relatively new player in the universal remote space — today announced a pretty major retooling of its Caavo Control Center system. It's a box into which you'll plug all your devices (well, up to four of them, anyway), plug it into your TV, and use a single remote to control all the things, with a dedicated custom user interface on top.
The brand is officially dropping the price of its universal remote hub as well as bringing a batch of new features into the mix. Headlined by Sonos support, parental controls and remote access, this new update simplifies the act of managing your home theater.
